Parkings

Maison du Citoyen

COST: FREE (FRIDAY AFTER 5 PM, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ALL DAY)

The Maison du citoyen offers several free parking spaces during the weekend (however, overnight parking is not allowed). The entrance is located on Hôtel-de-Ville Street, to your right, just after turning the corner from Laurier Street. The entrance is not very visible, and it is easy to miss.

Palais des congrès de Gatineau

COST: $14 PER DAY OR $5 PER HOUR

You can also use the official parking of the Palais, accessible from Courcelette Street.

Place du Centre

COST: SIMILAR TO THOSE OF THE PALAIS

PLACE DU CENTRE PARKING IS COVERED AS IT IS LOCATED AT STREET LEVEL BUT UNDER THE PORTAGE COMPLEX, PERFECT FOR THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO CLEAR SNOW FROM THEIR CARS AFTER THE CONVENTION.

Public transportation

The Place du Centre is also accessible by public transportation, given its strategic location for reaching Ottawa. All STO (Société de transport de l'Outaouais) lines to or from Ottawa pass through Place du Centre. We strongly recommend using STO rather than OC Transpo, especially if you are traveling through Centre Rideau, as OC Transpo reduces its service to Gatineau during the weekend. Additionally, your transfer and monthly pass work on both networks. For more details, please consult the STO and OC Transpo websites.

What is G-Anime?

G-Anime is one of the largest anime festivals in Quebec. The festival is known for its high-quality content, rivaling some of the largest events of its kind in Canada. It is an event organized by fans for fans.

Okay, so the festival only offers screenings of Japanese animation?

No, actually, screenings represent only a small part of the festival. We offer numerous fan-led conferences and large-scale events, such as concerts, not to mention content related to manga, cosplay, video games (both retro and new), and geek culture in general.

Do I have to be in costume to come to the festival?

No, not at all, but we encourage you to do so!

Do you offer content in French and English?

Yes, we are a bilingual festival where you will find panels and activities in both languages, as well as translation in major events such as the masquerade.

Are children welcome?

Yes, children are welcome; in fact, if they are 12 years old or younger, entry is free, but they must be accompanied by an adult. However, we do have some 18+ content, but it's always late at night and clearly marked on the schedule. Additionally, security members will be at the entrance of these activities to verify the age of participants.

Is the festival accessible for people with reduced mobility?

Yes, the Palais des congrès is located in a federal government building, so there is no issue. The entire festival site is 100% accessible.

Is there a way to save on the entry fee?

The price of a weekend pass in pre-registration is equivalent to the price of a regular Saturday pass. Additionally, you can take advantage of our manga buyback offer.

Will you invite X or Y? Can we suggest a guest?

Suggestions are always greatly appreciated. However, due to various factors such as artist availability and associated costs, we cannot guarantee their realization. Nevertheless, we thank you for contributing to the success of the festival by suggesting artists who are meaningful to you.

Are tickets refundable?

Unfortunately, no, the tickets are final sale and non-refundable. However, you can try contacting the finance department, but refunds are not guaranteed. finance@ganime.ca

I have a service dog, can I come?

Yes, G-Anime is proud to be an inclusive and accessible festival for all its community. However, it is important that the animal wears its service animal harness and has been trained by a competent authority (e.g., Mira, Psy Chien, to name a few) and possesses the card.
